Campaigning - Part 1

Recently I have seen lots of comments on different blogs about campaigning and making a difference. People thinking they can't effectively campaign if they are a lone voice or they can't make a difference with what they perceive as a low hit count on their pages per day. Campaigning and making a difference means getting the right person to hear your message. The message will then ripple out and different people will read it and talk about it.

You have to be prepared for a long haul, but you can make a difference!

Here I share with you how a handful of people managed to get their voice heard and win a campaign.

Part One...

I will conclude tomorrow with Part Two and also include an article that covers the whole campaign.

PS: I made this slide show and was one of the campaigners ;-)

Isn't getting the attention of a Press photographer / TV cameraman key?

Is that Pilchard riding a tank up the Wrekin? He got a right roasting on local interwebby places for that! It might have got him some press publicity but it didn't go down that well with some of the locals.

Sackerson - Yes engaging with the media is key. The media were very interested and supportive of our campaign. Hopefully my two posts explain several other key campaigning tips!

Crashie - Thank you :-) I always stand up for what I believe in ;-)

Wonko - I don't quite know why You Tube chose that picture from the slide show but Mark has been very helpful with our campaigns.

What was the problem locally? Was it the environmental issue?

Crushed - We did and :-)

Good for you and your colleagues Cherie. If you had all sat back and let things happen you would never have won...

I agree that we can all make a difference.

Jams - We had to try, as you say if we sat back nothing would happen!

Welshcakes - I am so glad you can see that too xx
