F is for France

Well more specifically Paris, which is full of hidden gardens.

This first photograph, is a lovely quaint B&B called the Hotel Flaubert, it is built around an indoor courtyard garden. To get to the rooms you have to wind along the walkways and through the garden. It is a long time since I stayed there and finding this has made me want to visit again. I see they now have a funky website. Last time I booked it had to be by phone in French!

Hotel Flaubert

How about a garden outside Les Invalides (the French National Army museum). This view was taken from inside one of the rooms. Well what else would a girl do inside an army museum ;-)

Les Invalides

Maybe you would just prefer a more traditional view? How about the Jardin Du Trocadero? I am sure all of you recognise this one!

Cherie, I loved you photos giving us a little taste of France (Paris). My wife and I have never been to Europe, much less France. We have a 13yr old so hopefully when he gets in high school we will do a trip. Thanks for the great posting.

Lovely photos of a well known area. Also posted pictures of France, but South not North.

You have immense knowledge of so many gardens. I think you collect them as I once collected castles.
Good post.

Today's letter is "F" isn't it?

I've never been to France but grew up hearing a lot about it. My babysitter lived in France, but after WWII moved to the US because her home was destroyed. She told me many stories of growing up there and how here family raised race horses. Today my contribution is about a special farm that used to located near my town in Coastal BC. I invite you to come see. -- Margy

I'd love to return to France someday, too. I was only 17 when I visited and I didn't appreciate it NEARLY enough, nor did I document it very well. I left my camera on the bus that we took from Orly to the hotel so the only photos I have are the ones that others took for me with my film in their cameras. (try tracking down high schoolers and trying to get your photos!)

Your photos are lovely--very reminiscent of what I loved about France--majesty and grandeur.

France...oh how we love to tour. We were last there in 2005........we toured all the way to the South Coast. Returning via paris I remember the traffic jam on the Saturday afternoon! How we laughed...(eventually! lol)

Thanks for this great contribution to ABC Wednesday.
