Princess Diana's death - 31 August 1997
I went out in the car first thing in the morning and spent the whole day in the countryside. When I got home around tea time I switched the telly on. It was a shock to say the least, I couldn't believe that I had gone all day without knowing.
Margaret Thatcher's resignation - 22 November 1990
I would have been working. I watched it on telly in the evening.
Attack on the Twin Towers - 11 September 2001
I was at work and one of my colleagues was on the phone to her husband. He was watching the telly as the news broke. She gave a little gasp and relayed the news to us. We then went down to the training wing and watched it unfold on the telly in stunned disbelief.
England's World Cup Semi-Final v Germany - 4 July 1990
I have no idea I was living on my own and sport doesn't interest me in the slightest.
President Kennedy's Assassination - 22 November 1963
Even I am a bit to young to remember that ;-)

I have done this as well so to recap
Princess Di! I was rescuing children from a burning orphanage.

Twin Towers. I was In the BBC TV studio winning Mastermind.
Footie thing. I was collecting my first Nobel Prize
President Kennedy. I was on my first Moon flight.
Hey Mutley
You are so talented. Can I pick up your poo. I have trained with my dog, but it would be an honour to follow you around.
I did this meme too. Interesting that almost everyone can remember what was going on with the flitty Princess and the nutty terrorists, but not the others.
That's a good one, Cherie. Have to think that out.
Mutley - You seem to have had a much more interesting life than me ;-)
Colin - We must all be bloggers of a certain age!
James - Looking forward to your answers.
Aye Cherie, we're the baby boomers *dun dun dunnn*
Ginro - I am not sure what to think of that :-/
Princess Di- I came in from work (I was doing hotel work and switched on Channell Four to watch Beavis and Butthead.
And instead I was watching something about a carcrash.
Anyway, I didn't follow it. I went to bed.
Anyway next day I heard one of the duty manahgers comparing Di to Marilyn Monroe.
And I asked him what he was on about.
He tol;d me about Di being dead. I didn't believe him.
Until he took me out the front and SHOWED me the flags all flying at half mast.
Margaret Thatcher I first heard whilst we were rehearsing a schhol play.
The Twin Towers I got back from the pub to the office and someone said that a plane had flown into the World Trade Centre.
I said 'Really?' then went down for a fag. At this point it just sounded like a disaster and I wasn't that interested.
Then when I got back, he said ANOTHER one had flown into it.
I said 'What is this? Is there some fault at JFK which is divertying them?'
And then he said that the news was saying it was deliberate..
Englansd Semi-Final- watched in the living room- I was 12.
President Kennedy, No, you'd have to ask my old man if he remembered it.
Crushed - LOL nice to know at least one of us wasn't born when JFK was assassinated ;-) :-)
Well I bloody wasnt
Amazing what you do remember, isn't it?
I can remember all of these except the England v Germany 1990.
I DO however remember the great 1966 match. My son looks at me as if I'm god when I talk about it.
Deb
Mutley - You are being a bit inconsistent from your last comment... But Oops! sorry ;-)
Deb - I bet he does :-) Boys love that stuff!
Said son nearly fell off his chair the other week when I quoted the immortal 'Do they think it's all over...?' line from '66 match.
I heard it real time! Woop! Mum has some cred! ;-))
I was lying...
I am astonished. I have never known Mutley to ever lie before!
Well my activities during the events were a bit mundane, but all these comments have certainly livened it up ;-)
