At work we were thinking back to the 70's. Well actually we were thinking of chocolate, which reminded us of sweet delights that are no longer available! We all have our own special favourites but for me it is Mint Cracknel and Old English Spangles. Whatever happened to those? Just looking at this list brings back some of those old advertising jingles and I am trying hard not to think of the clothes...
Just for fun a Schooldays Meme and I am expecting some of you to take up the challenge ;-)
1) Blue Peter or Magpie?BTW: The best chocolate of all time is still Maya Gold.
Blue Peter - & yes I am old enough to remember the elephant incident. I can also remember thinking how cruel it was and being secretly happy when the keeper slipped ;-)
2) What was your favourite comic?
Jackie (I think that is how it is spelt...)
3) What was your favourite sweet of all time?
Mint Cracknell and Old English Spangles.
4) Ever set light to something with a magnifying glass?
No!!!
5) How did you cover your school books?
I didn't usually.
6) Favourite lesson?
Music and science. In the third year when science split into it different areas I would have liked to have studied Botany but it wasn't an option. We were told it was too difficult!
7) Were you ever a monitor, prefect, headboy/girl?
No, I was far to quiet and retiring to even get noticed ;-)
8) Ever represented your school at sports?
I have never been into sports.
9) Ever played an Instrument?
Recorder, Clarinet and Bamboo Pipe.
10) What did you play in the Nativity?
The flower girl. My job was to spread flowers round the crib. I really would love to tell you about my brothers escapades in the school nativities, but this is about me isn't it ;-)

I was the King who gave gold in the Nativity. My proudest acting moment.
Ah it's their milk choc Cherie! I'll have to do that meme Cherie being nearer 50 than 40 now
What, you didn't cover your schoolbooks? Naughty girl.
Rob - Much better than being a flower girl. A sickly one at that ;-)
Jams - Anything Green & Blacks does it for me ;-) Lets not get to hung up about those age labels :-O Looking forward to seeing your answers :-)
James - If you only just knew how fussy I am about books being in a pristine condition... If you did you wouldn't have a problem with me not covering my books ;-)
Mmm, chocolate. Never heard of this brand however all chocolate is good.
Never set fire to something with a magnifying glass? That's right you live in England. Probably the sun was never hot enough. :-)
I know how you feel. I miss so much from Canada that we can't get here I am going to eat myself silly when I return. Then pine for things there we can't get from here.
'7) Were you ever a monitor, prefect, headboy/girl?

I would have loved to have been you. I always stood out, spoke my mind far too much, questioned authority and got into a lot of trouble. Yet, I was so lovely and actually quite respectful.
I was just taught to question everything and speak up for my sake as well as others.
Spangles! - I remember those! And "Don't forget the fruit gums, mum". The choc oic makes me want some of that badly!
Jackie, oh, yes, I loved that. And Judy and Bunty before that, and even before those, Princess!
JMB - Maybe not :-) but I left that sort of thing for my brother to try ;-)
Uber - I think have more than made up for being quiet back then ;-) Especially over the last few years.
Welshcakes - I am sure you would love the choc in the picture :-)
Liz - Oh yes I remember those as well now :-)
