A Couple of Incidents

For Sky Watch Friday.

Taken on sunny Brighton Beach when I was at the PCS conference last month. I think that was our one little bit of summer, now it is windy and rainy (very Autumnal) which brings me onto one of yesterdays incidents!

I had to nip out of work to get some petrol, lunch and a few other odds and ends. When I got to the supermarket it started to rain. By the time I got inside it was pouring down. I thought never mind, I will buy a brolly. By the time I had finished shopping and got outside the rain had stopped, only to start again when I pulled up outside work. Could I get the brolly to stay up? NO! I felt a bit of a fool and ran inside hoping no one was watching, which I know they do when they are bored. I felt much less of a fool when no one else could get it to work either. But it meant another trip back to the supermarket and you've guessed it... It was raining again & I don't much like frizzy hair!

Then there was the incident of the disappearing contact lens. As I took it out last night it vanished and I didn't know whether it was floating around in my eye somewhere or on the floor. I couldn't find it anywhere. This morning there it was shining up at me from the bathroom floor!!!

Nice perspective through the sailboats.

Nice photo. Glad you found your contact lens. I gave up on umbrella's years ago. They are just not worth the aggravation.

Now that is what we need to be doing. Sailing. Great shot!

That's a beautiful shot. I like the angles of the masts against the showery sky.
I agree about autumn - we usually say it arrives here in the middle of July, but it's been smelling of autumn for over a week now.
You did have a day of it, didn't you? Bet you're glad for the weekend!

Oh no, cried blog world … he’s back!

But guess what, I’m glad I decided to make a comeback.
If I didn´t rejoin SWF I would never have the chance to see this great photo!

It's too windy here for brollies. This is a great shot the space between the mast leading you into the image is fabulous.

Thanks to you and others, I get a big lift out of trying to outdo myself and post things that may surprise some and make others laugh a bit and most of all make lots of people aware of things that might not know much about.

When somebody actually takes the time to write a comment about my work and what I do, that to me is the biggest gift a person can give another. It is a smile on greeting, it is a welcome handshake, and it gives me and my family some hope that the dementia farm is still down the road.

You, yourself, are an inspiration to me. I come to say, thanks for taking the time to photograph things of interest and great beauty. Without that, blogging would be about as exciting as a wart on the end of my nose.

And rest assured, when you do visit, I will always try to visit your blog, in return, and leave a comment on your blog. I might not think your photography is ready for the big masterpiece award, but it got my attention.

Sincerely,

Abraham Lincoln

I never have much luck with brollies.

I either lose them, or they collapse.

I had one once lasted three days.

Beautiful photo Cherie. I don't even own an umbrella, the kids destroy every one I get so I risk the wet hair and clothes lol :-)
