Just Got Back...

...from a girls night out.

One of my colleagues organised a trip to the local theatre to watch Les Miserables (schools edition). She billed it as nice music boring story!!! I don't know how she got so many people to go with that rave revue. The production was by the local college and there were some very good performances. Seeing and listening to the orchestra also brought back fond memories of when I used to play in the school concert band. An amazing amount of effort must have gone into the production it was very well done.

I think the general consensus at the end was nice music interesting story and there was the obligatory check to see how many people had been moved to tears. It was a girls night out after all ;-)

I shall leave you with an interesting fact from the back of the programme:
Did You Know?

It takes......
32 Performing Arts Students, 19 Music Students, 17 Technical Students, 19 Members of Staff, 142 Props, 23 Set Changes, 87 Costumes, 40 Hats, 15 Wigs, 12 Radio Mics, 1 Red Flag, 170 Lighting Cues, 500 Programmes, 77 Feet of 3x1 Plywood and 120 Feet of Subway Sandwiches, 5400 Feet of Finger Painting, 9 Pots of Paint, 9 Sewing Machines, 1 Overlocker, 4 Buckets of Wallpaper Paste, 30 Meters of Canvas, 120 Yards of Ribbon, 1 Lecture's Sanity, 21 Maglites, 8 Louvre Doors, 15,000 Staples, 6 Boxes of Tea Bags, 7 Rolls of Gaffa Tape and 7 Gallons of Coffee......

To make this production of Les Miserables (schools edition) possible!

I'd love to have seen that, I can appreciate how much work goes into school musicals. I miss the drama classes and having total fun like that. How interesting what it took to put the production together. LOL at 7 gallons of coffee.

Great thought behind this post. Chapeau, Cherry.
Of course, :) , we did watch 'Mr. Pilk's Madhouse', 'Lysistrate', 'A Midsummernight Dream' just because our daughter took part.
But yes!! What an enthusiasm and - to great parts - what a professionalism. Marvellous performances - on a voluntary basis!
And here we are: Offer young people a chance. Let them have good teachers ... and parents. :)

I love that show and I am a sucker for anything live, no matter if it is amateur or professional. Everyone is always giving their all.

I only ever went on one girls' night out - never again. :)

Sean - I bet you loved those performances even more because your daughter was in them :-)

jmb - I love live performances too. I am not much one for watching them on the telly.

James - depending on the girls you are lucky you escaped that one ;-) :-)

Sounds like a great night out. I love the end-notes you published! 120 feet of Subway sandwiches, 6 boxes of teabags, 7 gallons of coffee - all between 87 people. That sounds insufficient coffee to me.

It sounds like a great night out.I think your firend could have come up with a better strapline though....Still it did work!

dragonstar - Now you mention it the coffee does seem a little deficient!!!

Ginro - Thank You, glad you noticed :-) I thought the other was looking a little cluttered and confusing!

Jams - It was a good night out. As to the strapline that's just J she makes us smile :-) But she did get of her but and organise it for us ;-)
