Yesterday a friend sent me this link to a new social networking site for Trade Unionists. I was tasked with figuring it out and adding a group that would be linked to our local action group. It seems quite a powerful tool, the union equivalent of Facebook without the advertising and without dubious way that Facebook regards your personal data. Amongst other things you can add blogs, groups and something called the wire which seems to be a bit like Twitter.I think I have just about completed my mission. Now all I need to do is send the link out to the rest of my colleagues!
It was the idea of Eric Lee of Labourstart and today was the official launch day, where a limited number of people were invited to join the site and advertise the site to their friends and colleagues.

James - I thought you might find the article interesting, it commented on some things that I hadn't seen elsewhere. Not my normal daily read though, I have to say ;-)
