Afternoon off...

I had to take the afternoon off for the gas board to check out the central heating problem!

They have managed to quieten the woodpecker just a little but he still hasn't gone away completely. The radiators have all been balanced but they have hot and cold spots and it sounds like there may be air in the system, which could in fact be gases caused by sludgy debris floating around the heating system...

So next step is inhibitor in the system for two weeks to loosen up the sludge, probably followed by a complete flush out of the system which takes ages. Then... see if the problem is solved!

They were really scratching their heads over it!!!

And to finish off the afternoon I couldn't resist some more photographs of my Oak Tree :-)

Very very beautiful old tree. It take ages for it to grow, and only minutes to let go...

Love to you from Norway, with wishes of a lovely weekend.

That tree may be old, but it's still a beauty!

Love allthe sky shots. So pretty.

Hi James,

They have only subdued the woodpecker for now...

... the worst noise was the pipes being too close together and vibrating against each other. So the pipes have temporary padding round them as a test (the noise sounds more like a muffled woodpecker now)! The main problem is whatever is going on inside the pipes. They are scratching their heads trying to figure out the problem!!!

When the rain stops and the wind dies down and it is a little warmer I am going to go into our garden and take a photo of each of our trees. What a wonderful idea.
