This poem was followed by poem called 'Handbag' it just made me wonder what everyone carried around with them ;-)
My mother gave me the prayer to Saint Theresa. So this is my list...
I added a used tube ticket, kleenex,
several Polo mints (furry), a tampon, pesetas,
a florin. Not wishing to be presumptuous,
not trusting you either, a pack of 3.
I have a pen. There is space for my guardian
angel, she has to fold her wings. Passport.
A key. Anguish, at what I said/didn't say
when once you needed/didn't need me. Anadin.
A credit card. His face the last time,
my impatience, my useless youth.
That empty sack, my heart. A box of matches.

Hi Bob, Ted does sometimes go in my bag though he feels a bit squished in there. He really likes to travel and go on adventures in my car! He might be playing a little game hiding the link, here it is again properly this time!

Nunyaa, I usually have a lipstick too, but it usual lurks unused in the bottom of my bag!

Phone, fags, lighter, wallet, one pen, my passport.
And tonnes of other junk actually, sitting in my jacket pockets. Papers and documents I've just folded and stuck there.
It does mean if anyone aims a gun at my heart, the bullet will be stopped :)

Thank You Grendel :-) I enjoy your posts, just a bit tired to make intelligent comments recently!
But your tonights post, just hit a public sector nerve and I just had to ;-)
Welshcakes, I choose my bags so there is always enough room for my digicam, I regret not carrying it round more often...
Hmm... one or two mobile phones, wallet, two sets of keys, PDA, lens cloth, USB pen, one or two biros... That's about it really!
Andi, Minimalist :-) I wish I could be, me and my emergency kit and all that.. Mmm!

Hi lordsomber, I should carry my camera about more often too. I keep missing good photo opportunities!
James, Nurofen is a brand name for the painkiller Ibuprofen. I rarely use it, it's there just in case.
Sally, bags can never be big enough can they? I have a really nifty one for my camera and tripod!
I thought I'd commented on this! What I thought I said was, 'Moo cards?'
Hi Liz, they are small business/calling cards. You are able to use your own photographs on the front and each photo can be different.

Speaking of purses...

We carry backpacks (rucksacks?!), since we are boys, but if there is a handbag around, it's Mommy's and she is carrying us in it! (She finally got one big enough for us to climb in!)
We have just the bear eesentials in our backpacks -- climbing rope with a safety pin at the end, in case we need to go fishin', too; money, of course; some business cards, a'cuz sometimes Mommy worries about what Peoples are thinking about us, as she takes our pictures on our adventures, so our business cards introduce us to anyone, who seems interested; our flag pins, in case we need to dress up for an important event; the key to the secret trapdoor we install into all of Mommy's carrying-us bags, so we can sneak out to head for the restuarant's kitchen while our parents eat or visit other stuffed animals in stores' and the key to our lock, a'cuz we are part of John Cena's (famous rass'ler) Chain Gang.
It is good to see that Mommy isn't the only gal, who thinks she needs to carry everything in her handbag, too!
Exciteddyily Yours,
Teddy T. & Spaulding T. Bear
Lordsomber, this is an april 1st thing isn't it? :-o
I would look like I was on Safari or a combat girlie with all my handbag contents in pockets! Not that my clothes have that many pockets ;-)
Spauld & Ted, Now you seem two very sensible bears with your emergency kit :-)
