Why Would the French...

...want to spoil one of their National Icons?

Look at this mad idea that James has alerted me to regarding the Eiffel Tower!

Is it to cut the queues or make more money?

I have never been to the top level, I am told that the first level is the best view and the only point in going to the top is to say you have done it (not going to bother don't like heights)! & all that extra structure on the top looks a little unsafe to me...

So far my best view of Paris is from "The Arc de Triomphe" (tho I do have one other to try ;-) )

Don't you think that these views are far better than the proposed structure!

Count down to the millenium

I hope one day you get the chance to travel :-) But the internet is wonderful for finding pictures of anywhere you could imagine :-)

That is an absolutely stupid idea! And according to James it's not going to be safe, either. They should leave well alone.

Definitely they should leave well alone. Ach it's ages since I've been to Paris.

I am well overdue a trip to Paris, I hope to visit on Eurostar this year, it is a stunning city.

I wonder what the football result will be tonight.

I think we all need to visit again sometime soon before the French spoil it ;-)

Been to the top level many times with schoolkids and I can't see what's so great about it. Why they want to muck around with such a national icon is beyond me, too!
