I am helping my colleagues and friends in their campaign regarding the Defence Training Review which is taking up a lot of my time at the moment because the campaign has reached a crucial point.

The biggest problem with contracting out defence training is that the military loses the ability to conduct in-house training. Secondary to that is the loss of facilities which are sold for a pittance.
This all leads to a constant erosion of skills within the forces that would take years to replace if needed.
Couldn't agree more.
But it makes big money for big business, "removes" figures from government balance sheets to please bean-counters, and quite possibly allows certain people to possibly benefit from the passing round of brown envelopes that could possibly be stuffed with something that might possibly be money.
Not that our politicians are corrupt at all.
Morningstar - I totally agree with everything you it is one of my main reasons for being against it.
Andi - I agree with the taking figures off the balance statement, my next post includes something on that!
Hope your workload eases up soon.
I must find time to do one of those blog links things that you have at the side. Along with all my other good intentions ...;)
Thanks Liz, I wouldn't be so bad if I could do it at work. But that would most definitely be frowned on!
