Zimbabwe & Freedom of Speech

Thank You JHL for reminding me that the postponed trial for Lovemore and Wellington is due to be heard tomorrow. They were arrested on the 8th May and accused of "spreading falsehoods prejudicial to the State".

My earlier post gives more details on the issues involved. This post is in solidarity and support of my fellow trade union members plight!

Again, CP, thanks for highlighting this again.

A timely reminder of why we must defend freedom of speech.

What were those falsehoods meant to have been?

I wonder how long he'll last.

I know someone just got back from Zimbabwe and they are of the opinion he can surive sanctions.

Fair trial and Zimbabwe in the same sentence are not usually to be found.

Welshcakes - You are welcome :-)

Calum - Freedom of speech is something that I will always defend!

James - At a May day rally the spoke about what they thought the state was doing to the opposition candidates!

Crushed - I am sure he can... But it doesn't mean people shouldn't speak out!

Richard - Sadly that is true!
