The Joys of Computing!

Now you all know that I have been having computer problems recently. Well now I am having email problems. Pipex who used to be one the best ISPs before it got taken over by Tiscali seem to have broken their mail server! It has not been working properly all weekend. Firstly no email at all then all my emails started arriving intermittently and all out of order...

I am now totally confused as I have replied to emails and then realised there had been previous related previous emails. So have probably confused a few other people too - sorry. Blame Tiscali who haven't even managed to post a service update to let it's users know what is going on. The latest update on the Pipex site is dated July 2008!

Some of you might also recall that earlier in the year I noticed a drop in my internet speed which co-incided with the Tiscali take over. I am not impressed with the service (or rather lack of it) at all. Time for a change I think.

Hopefully normal service from them and me will resume shortly ;-)

That's so annoying! We tend to be so very much at the mercy of the ISP.

I keep all my eggs in one basket. Basically if someting's wrong, I don't really care why, as I say to BT 'Your line, your internet service, my money every month. When's the dude coming over to sort it ot?'

Horribly familiar story! Who gets to leave Pipex first, you or I?

I'm with BT Openworld and although it may cost more, it has always been fine. Fingers crossed!

That would annoy me no end, I am so with you on how it is frustrating :)

Well at least it's not your computer this time so you don't have to do anything. Well except complain a little or a lot!
How frustrating, hope it is sorted soon.

Dunno if I mentioned this before but if you live in Welly, Brookside or Oakengates you can probably get Sky on an unbundled deal (they're the only 3 exchanges in Telford that have LLU). I pay £10 for a 16mbit connection from Sky.

Dragonstar - Very annoying!

Crushed - Does that work for you? I keep being held in the wait queue at the call centre...

Devonshire - Lets leave hand in hand :-)

Ellee - I am doing some research, Tiscali read my blog post and still didn't manage to put an update on their service status pade!!!

Nunyaa - it annoyed me immensely...

Jmb - Yes I am so glad it is not another computer woe ;-)

Wonko - Thanks :-) I didn't know that, I had done a bit of research and got to a reliable connection with O2 at £12.50. Will check out the sky option too!

I've heard they're not so good either. Good luck with it.
