A Quiet Night

What was supposed to be a quiet night visiting my Mum and Dad turned into out to be rather noisier than expected. We were sitting and chatting along quite nicely when suddenly there was a lot of shouting and dogs barking outside. This was followed by a loud metallic sound which made me think of the cars parked up outside. On investigation 4 hoodies were arrogantly sauntering down the street past a man walking his dog. It was 10.30 at night and they were going into town, they weren't on their way home! Apparently they had just run over the top of the cars parked on the side of the road and when we checked them out one of the cars had been dented! Another lady also walking her dog witnessed the whole thing too.

The man had wanted to take action but was frightened what his dog might do, both of the dogs were going nuts until well after the hoodies had disappeared. There was no point calling the police, by the time they arrived all there would have been to see was a dent in a car!

Maybe this assessment by James sums it up after all?

I am off over there again now because my brother is visiting, hopefully it will be peaceful today...

Oh no! How terrible and pointless. How today's visit is much quieter!

That's terrible Cherie! Just the sort of thing that leaves you seething but felling helpless. I've no idea what can be done in those circumstances. Are your parents OK?

It's not what they did, but the thought that you have no backing to do anything about it. The war is lost morally before it is lost physically.

It's no wonder there are people that feel like taking justice into their own hands. I know that if some hoodie had run over the top of my car, he would have spent the rest of the evening eating pavement, and lots of it.

How awful that you can't even quietly walk your dog without witnessing this sort of thing and / or being frightened out of your wits over there any more.

Hope the rest of your weekend was tranquil, cherrypie.

Excuse the language but these bastards need a kick up the ass and I still would of called the police, witnesses may of provided enough to catch these rotten sods and teach them a lesson. What a terrible thing to have to put up with.

Liz - It was apart from my nephews talking at the top of their voices!

Dragonstar - Yes they are fine thank you :-)

Sackerson - I agree, I have had reason to contact the police before and it is hard work getting through the bureaucracy.

Andi - I can see how people feel they have to take the law into their own hands.

Sally - It is sad yes, they live in a nice area but it is a walkway from the town to several estates.

Welshcakes - The rest of the weekend was much better thank you yes :-)

Nunyaa - It would have taken all night to get through the bureaucracy and their faces were well covered so we couldn't have identified them. The witnesses all live locally so there was still the option to report it in the morning!

Sean - Best not ;-)

Crashie - Yes exactly *sigh*

It's a cross between "A Clockwork Orange" and "1984."
